A West Clare councillor wants the Department of Rural Affairs and Community Development to be relocated to this county.
The Department currently operates out of Dublin with another branch in Mayo, but local representatives have this week heard calls for its office to be moved permanently to the Banner.
Kilrush-based representative Gabriel Keating believes hubs established for people working remotely around Clare due to the pandemic provide an ideal oppertunity for the department to make the move.

The Fine Gael councillor is asking Clare’s Oireachtas members to row in behind the proposal.
