The elderly West Clareman who died after a house fire at his home has been named locally as Paddy Behan.
The remains of the 87-year-old were found in his home at Tonavoher near Knockerra late on Tuesday night after a fire was reported there by neighbours.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination while Gardaí in Kilrush investigate the circumstances of the blaze, but it is understood they are not treating it as suspicious.
