A 37-year old Enniswoman has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a Polish man in the town last year.
Shirley Doherty of Glenview Close, Cappahard is facing two charges arising out of the death of 38-year old Tomas Nowakowski, whose body was found on a road at Tobartaoscain last May.
Tomas Nowakowski was a father-of-one who had lived in Ireland for six years, and was working in Ennis prior to his death.
His body was found on a speed bump at Tobarbeag, Tobartaoscain, shortly after 10 o'clock on the night of May 15th last.
Ms. Doherty is accused of being involved in the occurrence of injury to Mr Nowakowski, and failing to stop her Vauxhall Zafira at the scene on the night in question.
She is also charged with failing to provide information, under the Road Traffic Act, on the same night.
Ennis District Court has heard Ms. Doherty made no reply when cautioned and charged with the two alleged offences.
The housewife was granted legal aid by Judge Wililam Early, and was remanded on bail to appear before the court again next month.
