Works have begun on watermains replacement works in Miltown Malbay.
The area has suffered from numerous water outages in recent years, affecting homes, businesses and farms.
While works were due to begin in the first quarter of next year, following pressure from locals and TDs, it was agreed to move them forward to the last quarter of this year.

Clare’s Independent TD Michael McNamara says the works will be carried out in a way that will cause minimal disruption.
