It's after the HSE confirmed 'seed funding' for the unit, which is seen as crucial for improving bed capacity in the UL Hospitals Group.
24-single-bed rooms will be provided o neach of its four floors, and the total project cost is estimated at 25 million euro.
UL Hospitals Group CEO Colette Cowan has called the development a milestone, and says they look forward to advancing the project further.
