A young man has died following a surfing incident in West Clare.
The man in his 20’s, who’s understood to be a lifeguard, was surfing in Lough Donnell in Quilty this morning when he got into difficulty.
Emergency services were alerted and the Shannon-based Irish Coast guard Helicopter, Rescue 115 was dispatched to the scene.

Irish Coastguard Personnel administered CPR at the scene and en route to University Hospital Limerick.
He was later pronounced dead at UHL.
