Private Gerard McMahon, aged 24 years old.
He was a valued member of the 1st Infantry Battalion Dún Uí Mhaolíasa Barracks, Galway. He was also part of the 63rd Infantry Group in Syria.
Gerard will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Pat and Carmel, his cherished sister Bríd, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended McMahon and Mullin family and of course his military family, his wide circle of friends and neighbours.
Gerard will be reposing in St. Mary’s Church, Ballyloughnane, Ogonnelloe on Saturday, the 30th of October, at 2pm until 5pm. However, from 5pm till 6pm the family ask all of Gerard’s close friends to sit and stay with him and spend some time together.
Funeral Mass on Sunday, the 31st, at 1pm, with burial afterwards in New Cemetery, Ogonnelloe. The ceremony will be streamed at 9pm on Sunday evening on the O’Gonnelloe parish Facebook page. Due to the current Covid situation the house will remain strictly private.
