About 20 odd years ago, Gert and Elizabeth Stam were operating one of the most successful nurseries in the Netherlands. Then they visited Ireland and fell in love with Clare.

So, they upped sticks, bought a run-down smallholding near Scarrif, renovated the old farmhouse, bought a few cattle and a dog, and started building Caherhurley Nursery, which is fully certified by the Organic Trust
