Inheritance Law Changes Allow Parents To Spend Savings

Changes to inheritance laws could mean that elderly parents will spend their savings on themselves, rather than saving it for their children. The Law Reform Commission aims to remove the ‘moral duty’ to provide for off-spring, making it harder for children to dispute the share of inheritance that they receive and entitle parents to spend savings on themselves. Mary Cashin spoke to Gavin about the proposed changes.
