Anyone passing Spanish Point last week might have had quite the shock when they looked out over the beach and seen a full scale oil spill response ongoing.
Luckily, this was only a drill – a trial run to test the capabilities of the local authorities, Shannon Foynes Port Company and other organisations to an oil spill.
