A novel fundraising initiative is encouraging people to travel around the world – within the confines of what is safe.
Initially set up by St Joseph’s Miltown Malbay GAA Club as an idea to encourage a group of people to walk 1000 kilometres, it has now got the support of over 250 people.

Collectively, they have now been urged to walk or cycle 40,075 kilometres – which is the equivalent of the circumference of the world – while at the same time raising funds for eight local charities.
It’s all happening within 2km of peoples’ homes, and David O’Brien from St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay GAA club told Gavin about it on Friday’s Morning Focus.
