With some parents shedding out up to €1,800 to send their children on trips abroad with their schools, taking in the sights in New York, sampling the cuisine in Asia or learning to ski in the Alps, concerns have been raised that the costs of these learning experiences are getting out of hand and many families can’t afford to foot the bill but don’t want their children to be left out. Pat spoke to Ross McMahon from the National Parents Council (Post Primary) about these expenses and whether these trips are really beneficial to students.
