Today on Morning Focus we spoke to Cllr Cillian Murphy, Kilrush LEA Cllr & Proprietor of Murphy Blacks Restaurant following his decision last night to close the doors of the restaurant.
Murphy Blacks has been in business for more than fifteen years, but last night informed its social media followers that it had “become too much” for them to continue in business.

The proprietors, Cillian Murphy and Mary Redmond say to pin the blame on a number of factors but that the decision to increase the hospitality VAT rate from 9% to 13.5% was the fatal blow.
