The Clare Senior Hurling management are considering invoking a rule which would see the county panel rested ahead of their All-Ireland Qualifier with Wexford.
The 13 day rule states that inter-county players would not be asked to fulfil club fixtures ahead of the game on July 5th, and means this weekend's Championship action would likely be postponed as a result.
A final decision is expected tonight at a meeting of the county’s Central Competitions Control Committee.
The move would be a bid to avoid injuries for members of the county side – Colm Galvin and Cian Dillon are among those believed to have picked up knocks during club action this past weekend.
