2011 Championship draw

Clare will take on Cork or Tipperary in the Munster hurling semi final next season while the county’s footballers must face the All Ireland champions Cork  in the opening game of the 2011 football championship.

The draw means for the second successive season Ger O Loughlin’s side will be just 70 minutes away from a place in the  Munster final while Waterford must play Limerick in the other semi final.

It is less good news for the county’s footballers however who must take on Cork in the opening game of their defence of Sam Maguire.

In Leinster hurling

Dublin take on Offaly in the quarter finals while Galway will meet either Carlow or Westmeath , Kilkenny received a bye the semi final and await one of Wexford, Antrim or Laois

The Leinster and Ulster football draws have also thrown-up some potential blockbusters.

Down face Armagh in the Ulster quarter-finals while in the preliminary round Donegal meet Antrim with the winner taking on Cavan

In the other quarter finals Derry play Fermanagh and Tyrone meet Monaghan

In Leinster Kildare meet Wicklow in the preliminary round with the winners going-on to face Meath in the quarter-finals

The county that emerges from that quarter-final will have to face one-of Dublin, Laois or Longford in the last-four

Wexford and Offaly meet for the right to face Westmeath in the quarter finals while Louth’s first match is against Carlow

In Connacht Leitrim take on Sligo in the first round with the winner meeting New York or Roscommon in the semi final

In the other semi final Galway will play Mayo if the James Horan’s men get over London in the first round
