Galway manager John Mc Intyre has dropped his captain for Saturday’s clash with Clare at Pearse Stadium.
Damien Joyce is omitted from the team, in one of 5 changes to the side that lost to Dublin.
Donal Barry comes in for Joyce at wing-back, while in midfield, Andy Smith is preferred to Barry Daly.

There’s also three changes in the attack, with Iarla Tannian, Ger Farragher and Alan Kerins all starting.
