There were four games down for decision last evening in the final round of the Clare Cup.
In Division 1A Newmarket took a two goal victory over Clooney/Quin at Fr Murphy Memorial Park, the Blues scoring three goals and 16 points, over the visitors’ one goal and sixteen.
In Division 1B Ballyea took a crushing victory over home side Ruan – eight goals and eighteen points to Ruan’s nine points.
Feakle were also comfortable winners in their clash with Shannon’s Wolfe Tones – the score there 4-22 to seventeen points.
And a goal made the difference in Eire Og’s home meeting with Sixmilebridge. Both teams raised the white flag sixteen times but it was the townie’s goal that gave them the win.
