Banner look to tame the Cats in Semple showdown

Clare will look to reach a first Allianz National Hurling League Final in more than a decade this afternoon.

Davy Fitzgerald's side meet Kilkenny in the second part of a Thurles double header, hoping to atone for a defeat against the Cats that saw Clare relegated in 2015.

Podge Collins makes his first start since 2014 this afternoon with the former All Star named at corner forward, while Oisin O'Brien and David Fitzgerald also come in to the starting 15.

It's understood Tony Kelly could make his first appearance of the league from the bench after recovering from an ankle injury.

The Banner are unbeaten in 10 games so far this year despite having a number of injuries to contend with, and selector Louis Mulqueen says everyone is in a positive frame of mind.

Meanwhile Kilkenny forward TJ Reid says they're looking forward to the game

Throw in today in Semple Stadium is at 4pm, live commentary here on Clare FM in association with Matt Waters Clare Fruit & Veg Market and Donie O'Keefe Champion Meats Turnpike Road Ennis.
