Newmarket Celtic and Avenue United B will battle it out later for the biggest prize in Clare club soccer as the County grounds hosts the final of the Prego menswear Clare cup.
The match will see a B side take their place in the show-piece for the third year in a row-Bridge United B runners up in the past two seasons to Avenue’s A side.
The Ennis side’s captain Neil Slattery told Clare FM that learning from previous finals is hugely important for the underdogs .
Newmarket are looking to win the cup for the 10th time in their history,the last triumph coming in 2000,
The cup win would cap a remarkable season as they will have gone unbeaten in the Clare cup as well as the premier league.
Captain Mark Donnellan feels a win this evening would be a dream come true for all the squad, kick off at the county grounds is at 7 o’clock.
