Ballyea led by 1-17 to 1-5 as the game edged toward full time, with the Galway men mounting a comeback that saw them cut that gap to just one point in the closing stages.
Tony Kelly’s dramatic late point ensured their place in history, and sees them become just the second Clare club this century to book their place in the decider.
