Bumper Weekend Of Club Football Action

The centre-piece of local sporting action this weekend will be the four senior football championship quarter-finals.

All of these games will be played in Cusack Park on Saturday and Sunday and all are live in full on Clare FM across the weekend.

The intermediate football quarter-finals are also down for decision, while both Junior A football semi-finals will also be decided.

First into the ring on Saturday are county champions Kilmurry Ibrickane, who take on Kilmihil. Kilmurry topped their group while Kilmihil overcame Doonbeg in a quarter-final play-off to secure their place in the knock-out stages.

On Saturday afternoon, Ennistymon take on Éire Óg in what could be the game of the weekend.

On Sunday, Lissycasey meet Doora-Barefield. Lissycasey got the better of Clondegad in their last game, while Doora-Barefield recovered from losing their first group game to win the next two.

In the fourth senior quarter-final, Miltown will meet St Breckan’s with the latter looking to show that they are title contenders. If they knock out Miltown, they won’t fear anybody after that.

In the relegation play-off, the loser of Clondegad v Cooraclare will be playing intermediate football in 2022 while in the intermediate semi-finals, O’Curry’s face Coolmeen, Corofin will play Michael Cusacks, Kildysart take on Shannon Gaels and The Banner play Kilfenora.

In the junior A semi-finals, it’s Ballyvaughan v Clooney-Quin and Ennistymon against Kilmurry Ibrickane.
