Busy day of Allianz Football League action as Clare begin life in Division Three

Clare boss Colm Collins says the League will serve as a learning curve for his squad as they embark on their first Division Three campaign in almost a decade.

Wexford provide the opening opposition this afternoon in Miltown Malbay, with former All Ireland winning Tipperary manager David Power taking the reins of the Slaneysiders for the first time.

Podge Collins has been ruled out through injury, but Shane McGrath is fit to take his place in the half forward line, while Gary Brennan once more captains the side from midfield.

Wexford meanwhile are managed by former All Ireland minor winning Tipperary manager David Power, he's expecting a tough battle this afternoon

Dublin start the defence of their title by taking on Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn. 

Last night, Monaghan began life in the top tier with a 1-13 to 0-9 win over Tyrone at Healy Park. 

While Rory Gallagher's first League campaign in charge of Donegal began with a 1-15 to 0-12 win over Derry in Ballybofey.

In Division Two

Meath begin another tilt at promotion by facing Galway at Pearse Stadium. 

Kiltoom hosts the meeting of the two promoted sides, with Roscommon facing Cavan. 

Westmeath take on Laois in Mullingar. 

While Kildare begin life back in the second tier with the visit of Down to Newbridge.

There are three games in Division 4, with London taking on Offaly in Ruislip, Leitrim facing Longford, and Antrim up against Carlow. 

There's hurling action as well today, with Carlow facing Galway in the semi finals of the Walsh Cup. 

The other semi sees Laois face Dublin at O'Moore Park. 

All of those games throw-in at 2.
