Clancy Glad To Have Clare SHC Campaign Back On Track

Kilmaley boss Conor Clancy felt it was important his side responded in a positive manner to their opening round defeat as they kickstarted their championship season.

The mid Clare outfit got their first points on the board in Group One of the hurling championship as they secured a 1-24 to 2-12 win over Whitegate.

A late run which saw them outscore their opponents by 0-7 to 0-1 cemented the victory, along with a strong start to the third quarter.

Clancy says their start to the second half helped turn the game in their favour

Meanwhile O’Callaghan’s Mills manager Donach O’Donnell admits it was their own mistakes which proved costly as they fell to a second successive defeat.

Last year’s beaten finalists are now facing an uphill struggle to reach the knockout stages of this years championship after losing out to Inagh-Kilnamona.

O’Donnell says they paid the price for too many errors during the course of the game.
