For the first time ever, Clare have successfully defended the Munster Minor Hurling Championship.
The Banner beat Waterford in this afternoon’s decider, running out 1-20 to 2-09 winners.
Clare had the best of the opening half, and despite a Waterford goal through Adam O’Sullivan they took a sevon point lead into the break, 0-14 to 1-04.

Oisin Hickey netted for the banner early in the second half, further extending Clare’s advantage, and while goals from O’Sullivan again and Gavin O’Brien brought the teams closer together, Clare’s lead never shrunk below their five point winning advantage.
Clare now play Galway or Kilkenny in an All Ireland semi-final on August 14th
