Clare continue unbeaten run with victory over Laois in Allianz National Hurling League

Clare have maintained their unbeaten start to the year with an eight point win over Laois in the National Hurling League Division 1B.

After 15 minutes Clare led by 0-5 to 0-2, with five different scorers in the shape of Aaron Cunningham , Colin Ryan, Gearoid O'Connell, John Conlon and David Reidy.

Willie Hyland was the man with both scores for the home side in the opening period.

Reidy then got his second and Conor Ryan got on the scoreboard either side of a point for the home side to give Clare a four point lead.

Colin Ryan and Zane Keenan swapped points before Ryan once more pointed to leave Clare 0-9 to 0-5 ahead.

Keenan then cut the gap to three with another free on the half hour mark, before Bobby Duggan responded with a free from his own "65 metre line.

Colin Ryan got his fourth and Conlon pointed his secondwith Willie Hyaland responding to leave it Clare 0-12 Laois 0-7 as half time loomed.

Stephen Maher and Bobby Duggan traded scores before John Conlon pounced for a goal.

Keenan's free was the last score of the half as Clare led by 1-13 to 0-9

The sides swapped points after the break once more as Laois goalkeeper Enda Rowland pointed a "65 and Colin Ryan responded from play.

Bobby Duggan then broke a ten minute spell of no scores with two more frees to push Clare 1-16 to 0-11 ahead.

Laois struck for two in a row to cut the gap to six with 15 minutes to play.

Duggan and sub Cathal O'Connell pointed on the hour mark to quell any hope of a comeback from the home side.

PJ Scully then pointed two frees for Laois either side of a David Reidy point, with Bobby Duggan again pointing a free from his own half of the field.

Aaron Cunningham and Charlie Dwyer traded scores before the full time whistle with Clare taking a 1-21 to 0-16 win
