Brendan Bugler has confirmed his inter-county retirement.
The announcement had been widely expected after the Whitegate man was reported to have informed the Clare senior hurling management of his intention to step away from the Banner setup for 2018.
In a short statement, the two-time All Star has thanked everyone who helped him on his journey, including family and friends and team-mates.

Bugler made his debut for Clare in 2007 and was a key part of the All-Ireland winning side of 2013 and the National League winning side of last year.
