Clare have lost the National hurling league final to Limerick by 4-12 to 2-13.
Clare trailed at half time by 2-6 to 0-8 points but a goal just after the restart from Darach Honan gave Clare a huge boost and they led with minutes remaining until a late gola from Kevin Downes sealed the Shannonsiders victory.
Limerick will play Divison one hurling in 2012 while Clare must now face a third succesive season in Division two.
