Clare lose heavily to Tipperay as Cork await in relegation play off

Clare have lost heavily to Tipperary today in their final game in the divisIon one league losing by 3-19 to 1-14 in Thurles

Clare struggled against the strong home side for long periods of the match,going in at half time trailing by 1-11 to 0-06,Tipperay’s goal from Eoin Kelly,

Despite the introduction of Conor Mc Grath for his first apperance in 2013 as a second half substitute Clare couldn’t find a way past the Tipperary rearguard and they conceded two further goals to Lar Corbett  and a deflected strke off Domhnall o donovan.

Clare did score a consoltaion goal at the death but the defeat saw them prop up the Division table after 5 games.

All Ireland champions Kilkenny beat Cork by 20 points to 2-12 at Nowlan Park – Luke O’Farrell and Conor Lehane scored the Cork goals.

Kilkenny will play Galway in the last four in a repeat of last Septembers All Ireland final.

Galway edged out Waterford by 15 points to 12 at Walsh Park.

Clare will now meet Cork in the relegation play-off  on the weekend of April 13th/14th. while Tipp’s semi final will be against the winner of the Division 1B final between Limerick and Dublin.

Limerick drew with Wexford at the Gaelic Grounds while Dublin sealed their place in the final with a 3-15 to 11 points win over Carlow at Parnell Park.

Offaly beat Antrim by 21 points to 19 at Casement Park which means Antrim will face Carlow in the relegation playoff.
