In news of handball and two Clare men will be in action in Round One of the All Ireland Open Championships this Saturday.
Niall Malone and Diarmuid Nash, both of Tuamgraney, will travel to St. Coman’s of Roscommon for their first round matches.
Malone will play the experienced Michael Finnegan of Cavan, while Nash will take on local man Chris Doolin.
If the Clare players are victorious in their games, then both face Round 2 matches on Sunday.
Meanwhile, six Munster Final matches with Clare involvement will also be held in the coming days, with two titles having already gone to players from the County.
Stephen McInerney is Emerald Masters B Singles champion after his win over Cork’s Ray Norris while Cathal Hannon was very impressive in defeating Thomas Donegan of Limerick to win the Junior Singles title.
