Clare's U21 footballers got their preseason campaign underway in Miltown this afternoon with a loss against Laois.
At half time the Banner led by 1-6 to 0-5, with Naomh Eoins Niall Bonfil bagging the Clare goal, while Eire Óg's Paddy O'Malley accounted for three of Clare's points.

Laois had the strong breeze at their backs in the second half, and with 15 minutes to go they hit the front when sub Martin Scully goaled.
That left them leading by 1-9 to 1-6, and from there Laois dominated, closing out the game to win by 1-11 to 1-7 in what were very difficult conditions.
Next up for Clare is the visit of Offaly next Saturday.
