Several Clare players were to the fore in yesterdays Fitzgibbon cup win for NUIG over D.I.T by 12 points to 1-8.
An all-Clare full back line held the Dublin college to 4 points at the break with Domhnall O Donovan and David Barrett getting their names on the score sheet for the victors with a point each.
There were 13 Banner natives on the panel in total including injured duo John Conlon and Cormac O’ Donovan.
Meanwhile there were several Claremen on the panel of two victorious Limerick colleges yesterday.
UL were 8-point winners of St Pat’s Drumcondra, 3-9 to 0-10 the final score there, while LIT hammered last year’s champions UCC by 3-14 to 1-6. Aidan Quilligan started for the Cork outfit, while Darach Honan played 20 minutes as a substitute.
