Clare resigned to Division two status agsin next year

 

Clare have been beaten in their National hurling league Division two decider by Wexford on a scoreline of 1-16 to 2-09.

Clare led at half time thanks to a Colin Ryan strike just before the break which gave the Banner a 1-4 to 6 point lead.
John Conlon also goaled  midway through the second half to give Clare a 2-6 to 10 point lead   before Wexford responded with fine points from  Diarmuid Lyng to give them the win and seal their promotuion back to Divison One.

Darch Honan was sent off at the death for Clare having picked up his second yellow of the match.

Elsewhere and In camogie the Clare minor side have beaten Waterford to set up a Munster final date with Cork next weekend on a final scoreline of 3-17 to 1-2.

in soccer news and Avenue United have joined Bruidge United B in the clare cup final after a 2-1 win over Bridge Celtic Today.

Avenue led 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from Barry  Nugent and Adrian Mc Donagh with Bridge responding in the opening minutes of the second half through Barry o Connell.
