Clare SFC Round II gets underway

The second round of the Clare Senior Football Championship gets underway this evening.

The eight first round winners face off with a place in the quarter finals of this years race for Jack Daly at stake, while the eight first round losers playoff for a chance to stay in this years championship.

 

First up this evening is the clash of St Josephs Miltown and St Senans Kilkee in Cooraclare at 5pm.

 

There's a double header in Kilmihil as Kilmurry Ibrickane take on Shannon Gaels in the losers round, with the losers exiting the 2014 championship.

 

That's followed by the winners round meeting of Doonbeg and St Josephs Doora Barefield at 7.15pm.

 

The tie of the round is at 5.30pm in Cusack Park, as Clondegad take on fellow parishoners Lissycasey.

 

In what is expected to be a tight game, Clare FM analyst Joe Garry says Michael Hehirs outfit might just shade it

 

There's also action this afternoon in the intermediate football championship

 

Corofin and Kildysart meet in Gurteen for a 4pm throw in, while at the same time in Ennistymon, Eire Óg take on Kilfenora.
