Members of the Clonlara management say the return of Darach Honan from injury ahead of the county hurling championship is a significant boost.
The influential forward came on as a substitute in Clare’s loss to Waterford on Sunday, and is expected to continue his comeback this Saturday as the South-East Clare outfit kick off their championship campaign against St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield.
Coach Donal Madden has warmly welcomed Honan’s return, though he admits it could take some time before he back in top form
The clash of Clonlara and Doora/Barefield takes place in Shannon this Saturday, while Cusack Park will play host to the other game in Group 3 this Saturday night.
Sixmilebridge play Cratloe in an important match for both teams – the Bridge are seeking a first county title in ten years, while Cratloe will be hoping that Sean Collins can prove his fitness and overcome the injury that saw him miss Sunday’s Munster semi-final.
Cratloe’s league form was below par this year, but manager Joe McGrath is hopeful they can turn this around come Championship
