Collins hails character of Clare side after win over Westmeath

The manager of the Clare Senior Footballers has identified their strong finish to the opening half of the win over Westmeath as a crucial period in the game.

Colm Collins side made it three wins from four games played with a 1-18 to 0-10 win over Westmeath in Cusack Park, leaving them joint second in the Division Three standings.

The Banner closed out the opening 35 minutes with three unanswered points to lead 0-10 to 0-3 at the break.

Collins says it was important they responded in that fashion.

Kildare stay top of the standings with full points after beating Limerick, Tipperary kept up their promotion push with a win over Offaly, while Longford won on the road against Sligo.
