Collins praises Banner character in Sligo win

Clare football manager Colm Collins has praised the character his side showed in their Allianz National Football League win over Sligo.

The Banner recovered from trailing by 0-10 to 0-4 after 26 minutes to dominate the rest of the game and seal a 0-22 to 1-13 win, with the Sligo goal coming as the game entered injury time.

That result leaves Clare in fourth spot on the Division Three table, with Tipperary up next in Semple Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Collins says the players took responsibility for their own performance.

Armagh and Fermanagh lead the way on the Division Three table after wins over Limerick and Tipperary respectively, while Louth sit in third, just ahead of Clare by virtue of having beaten the Banner in Drogheda.
