The cause was boosted last week when David Tubridy's red card, which he picked up against Kildare in the last group game was overturned, leaving him free to be selected for tomorrow's game.

Meanwhile a former Clare minor manager has hailed the impact of the younger members of the squad in this years campaign.

U21 stars Keelan Sexton, Pearse Lillis and Cian O'Dea have all played huge roles in achieving promotion to the second tier.

All three came through the Emerging Talent Squad Initative, which was spearheaded by Colm Collins.

Kilmurry Ibrickane man Michael Considine, who has worked with Collins at various levels, says it has paid huge dividends.

Throw in at Croke Park on Saturday is at 6pm, live commentary here on Clare FM
