The 32 year-old won three All-Stars on top of his six All-Ireland medals with the county, and captained his club O’ O’Loughlin Gaels in the club hurling final on St. Patrick’s Day.
He declined an invitation from Cats manager Brian Cody to join training for the upcoming championship.
