Conlon Looking To Move On Quickly From Antrim Defeat

Clare senior hurling captain John Conlon feels the Banner must move on quickly from their defeat in the opening round of the Allianz National Hurling League.

Having gone through last year’s group stages unbeaten, Brian Lohan’s charges fell to a shock two point loss against Antrim in Belfast, meaning one more loss would likely see their hopes of topping the group ended.

The focus will now turn to a showdown with Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford in Cusack Park next weekend, with the Leinster side gunning for revenge after exiting the 2020 championship at the hands of Clare.

Clonlara’s John Conlon says they knew a huge battle was always on the cards in Corrigan Park.

Elsewhere in Division 1B this weekend, Wexford were comfortable winners over Laois while Kilkenny edged out Dublin.
