Countdown on to Clare SHC Quarter Finals

The first of this years Senior Championship Quarter Finals sees two sides who are unbeaten thus far put that record on the line.

Cratloe came through the Group of Death in this years championship unscathed, beating Crusheen, Kilmaley and 2013 champions Sixmilebridge along that way.

Eire Og, under the stewardship of three time All Star Clare goalkeeper Seamus Durack, topped their Senior B Group unbeaten, with victories over Whitegate, Wolfe Tones and Ruan.

That one is underway in Cusack Park at 3.30pm

The last of the Cusack Park triple header on Saturday sees the 2011 champions Crusheen taking on 2012 champions Newmarket on Fergus.

The Blues, last years beaten county finalists, strolled through their group with wins over Tulla, Tubber and Clarecastle, scoring a total of 6-49 in the process.

Crusheen meanwhile sealed their passage to the last eight with wins over Sixmilebridge and Kilmaley, before losing to Cratloe in the last group game.

Their manager is John Carmody, and he says his side are eager that 2014 doesn't end this weekend

In local underage camogie action, Feakle Killanena beat Corofin by the minimum on a 3-13 to 5-6 scoreline to set up a Minor A final showdown against Inagh Kilnamona who beat Sixmilebridge by 2-10 to 0-10.
