Doonbeg continue their celebrations while Cratloe look forward to County final

The celebrations are continuing in Doonbeg following the clubs county final win over Liscannor yesterday in Cusack Park by 11 points to 7.

The victory was the west Clare magpies 18th in 27th finals which edges them closer to Kilrush’s record title haul.

Conor Whelan yesterday claimed his 5th county medal-he felt Doonbeg held up well in the physical exchanges:

County footballer and Doonbeg corner forward David Tubridy grabbed 5 of his sides total,4 from placed balls.

It is the inter county stars first ever  senior medal and he  told Clare Fm a defeat last  seaosn was the key motivation for their 2010 triumph:

Elsewhere in hurling news and Cratloe have now less than week to prepare for their county senior hurling final after their semi final win over Clonlara on Saturday.

The holders edged last seaosn’s finalists by 2-14 to 1-13 to book their place in the showpiece  against Crusheen next Sunday.
