Draws Made At County Board Meeting

The Quarter-Final line-up for the Clare Senior Football Championship has become clearer, following the draw which was made at last night’s meeting of the Clare County Board.

Defending champions Cratloe face the winners of O’Currys and St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield, while Doonbeg await the winners of Cooraclare and Ennistymon.

The winners of Kilmurry Ibrickane and Kilkee will face Clondegad, while either Éire Óg or Lissycasey will meet St Joseph’s Miltown

The meeting heard the Clare U21 hurling management have requested their players be kept free from club action for the two weeks prior to the All-Ireland final, should they overcome Antrim on Saturday.

However, centre back Conor Cleary will be free to play with his native Miltown on Friday September 5th.

The draws for the Clare Intermediate Hurling semi-finals were also made. The winners of the playoff between Parteen and Killenena will face Smith O’Briens, while Feakle take on Sixmilebridge.

Treasurer Bernard Keane also outlined an income of almost €155,000 from the 2014 Allianz National Leagues and that to date, the county board fundraising draw has made a profit of €76,000, with the August draw to be made on this week’s Sideline View on Clare FM.
