Draws Made For Munster Championships

Clare’s All-Ireland winning senior hurlers will likely face Limerick in their first competitive game since lifting the Liam McCarthy.

The draw was made last night for the 2014 Waterford Crystal Cup, and sees Davy Fitz’s team line out in the Quarter-Finals on January 19th against the Treatymen or IT Tralee.

It comes as Limerick appoint joint-managers Donal O’Grady and TJ Ryan to take helm of their hurlers for a two year period. O’Grady is set for his second spell in charge of Limerick.

He stepped down in September 2011, after just one year in charge, when Ryan was his selector.

Draws were also made for underage championships last night.

Clare’s Under 21 Hurlers begin the defence of their Munster title with a quarter final against Limerick, and potentially a semi-final with Tipperary.

The Munster U21 Football Semi Final pits Clare against Tipperary or Waterford, while the Minor footballers open their championship against Kerry in the Quarter-Final.

The Minor Hurling Championship draw was deferred.
