Dubs Look To Replace Clare man Daly

To hurling first, and Dublin have begun the process of looking for a new hurling manager after Anthony Daly announced he was stepping down from the position.

In six years at the helm, the former Clare All Ireland winning captain led the Dubs to a Leinster title and a National Hurling League win.

That came to an end last night, following Dublin's exit at the hands of Tipperary in the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals.

Galway is rumoured to be the next port of call for Daly, and it would be a good fit according to one of his predecessors in Dublin – Humphrey Kelleher.

One leading bookmaker has installed Daly as favourite to take over in Galway on the back of his resignation.

Former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy is favourite to take the job in Dublin, with Donal Og Cusack, Nicky English and current Tribesmen manager Anthony Cunningham said to be in the frame for the Dubs.

Tipperary have questions over the fitness of defender Michael Cahill ahead of Sunday's All Ireland Hurling final.

The Thurles Sarsfields man played only a cameo in the semi final win over Cork, having missed the quarter final victory over Dublin with a knee injury.

Cahill is said to have suffered a setback in his recovery and is now a major doubt to make Eamon O'Shea's starting fifteen.
