Ennistymon Hope For Upward Curve In 2016 Championship

A member of the Ennistymon backroom team is hoping they can continue on an upward curve when they get the 2016 Championship underway.

The North Clare men face Lissycasey in the opening round, with both sides having mixed league campaigns to date.

Ennistymon have won just one of their Cusack Cup games, and currently occupy the last relegation spot.

Selector Cathal Crowe says league form will count for little in the heat of championship battle.

Elsewhere Clondegad boss John Connolle is calling on his players to progress from last years campaign when they face Doonbeg.

The Ballynacally based side reached the last four in 2015, before losing out to Cooraclare in a thrilling encounter.

Connolle, who makes the switch from Kilmurry Ibrickane for this years campaign, feels their league form has been strong but is cautious of the challenge ahead.
