Graeme McDowell is the toast of the European Ryder Cup team after he got the point that helped them to regain the Ryder Cup.
The Ulsterman held his nerve to win the final singles match on a day of high drama at Keltic Manor.
Colin Montgomerie’s team were leading in eight of today’s matches at one stage, but the US side staged a spectacular fight-back that allowed them to get back to 13 and a half points apiece.

But McDowell held his nerve – sinking a birdie putt on the 16th to regain a two-hole lead over Hunter Mahan and then playing a solid putt on the 17th that sealed victory by 14-and-a-half points to 13-and-a-half.
