Ex Clare Hurlers Pick Up National League Medals

Two former Clare Senior hurlers picked up Allianz National League medals at the weekend with adopted hurling counties.

2013 All-Ireland medallist Patrick Kelly played at midfield for the Kerry Senior hurling team that claimed the Division 2A League title with a 5-17 to 3-17 win over Westmeath.

Clarecastle’s Kelly contributed to the Kingdom’s victory with a point from play. His move to the Kerry hurlers was first announced in January. Crusheen man Gearóid O’Doherty is also on the extended panel.

All-Ireland winning minor hurling captain from 1997, John Reddan rolled back the years in the Division 3B Hurling final whilst playing for Warwickshire.

The Sixmilebridge native was at centre forward in their 1-15 to 2-10 victory over thirteen man Longford. Reddan notched one point over the seventy minutes.

Kelly continues to play with Clarecastle while Reddan is permanently based in Warwickshire and hasn’t put on a Bridge jersey for over five years.
