Few shocks in third round of Cup

Starting with Soccer, a busy day in the third round of the FA Cup, with 27 fixtures in total.
There’s one game ongoing at the moment, where it’s still scoreless between Bristol and Aston Villa. 

A little earlier Swindon pulled off the shock of the day with a 2-1 win over Premier League side Wigan.

Paul Benson got the winner in the second half.

Strugglers QPR were nearly left red-faced – needing a late equaliser to hold League 1 side MK Dons to a 1-all draw.

Bolton will need a replay to get past Macclesfield after they were held to a 2-all draw.

Newcastle came from behind to beat Blackburn in the all-Premiership tie. It finished Newcastle 2-1 Rovers.

West Brom survived a scare – they eventually beat Cardiff 4-2.

Fulham, Tottenham and Everton all avoided any potential upsets with convincing wins over Charlton, Cheltenham and Tamworth respectively.

In the Scottish Cup fourth round, Pat Fenlon’s Hibernian beat second division outfit Cowdenbeath 3-2.
Irishman Eoin Doyle got on the scoresheet for Hibs. While Dunfermline beat Inverness 1-0 in today’s only all-SPL tie.
