Former Clare Captain Feels Waterford Need ‘Their A Game’ To Overcome Limerick

A former Clare senior hurling captain believes Waterford will need to bring their A game to run Limerick close in this year’s All Ireland final.

The Deise will play the Treaty county in two weeks time for the right to lift the Liam MacCarthy cup, with both sides in the running the only two teams to defeat Clare in championship competition this year.

Limerick saw off the Banner in a Munster quarter final last month, while Waterford ended Brian Lohan’s side’s year nine days ago in the last six of the All Ireland series.

1992 skipper and Clare FM hurling analyst Tommy Guilfoyle believes John Kiely’s charges will go into the game as firm favourites.
