Senior and Intermediate Football Championships Begin

It’s the turn of the county’s senior and intermediate club footballers to begin their championship quests today.

The race for the Jack Daly Cup begins at 2.30pm in Kilmihil when 2017 champions Kilmurry/Ibrickane take on Lissycasey.

We’ll have regular updates here on Clare FM throughout the afternoon.

Thirty minutes later, defending champions St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay start their quest for back-to-back crowns when they face Kilmihil in Cooraclare.

The intermediate championship gets up and running at 3.30pm when Kilfenora and Liscannor meet in Ennistymon.

An hour later, it’s St. Senan’s vs O’Curry’s in Doonbeg. And at 6.30pm this evening, Kildysart face St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield in Lissycasey.

There’s four games in the Junior A Championship.

Ballyvaughan and Kilrush Shamrocks commence play at 2pm in Ennistymon.

Cratloe meet Michael Cusacks in Gurteen at 3pm; Lissycasey take on Kilmurry/Ibrickane at 3.45pm in Kilmihil; and Banner meet Ennistymon at 6.30pm in Corofin.

And in the Junior B Championship, there’s two matches scheduled for 6.30pm.

Clondegad go up against Moy in Éire Óg, and Coolmeen face St. Breckan’s in Miltown.
